Ellipse Converter is built on open-source libraries, several of them under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL): FFmpeg, FFmpegKit, LAME, FriBidi, libiconv, libheif and libde265. The complete source code of those libraries, as built into the app, is published together with the scripts that build them and a record of every change we made to them.
| App versions | Version codes | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 0.9.0 to 1.1.0 | 9 to 16 | Release v1.0.1 |
The source repository's README explains what each file contains and how to build it.
The libraries are separate shared libraries inside the app, and the app does not check its own signature or reject replaced libraries, so you can build a modified library and run the app with it. The repository's README describes the steps. The notices and license texts of every component are in the app under Settings → Open-source licenses.
For at least three years after we last distribute a version of the app, we will also provide the corresponding source for that version, on a physical medium or by download, for no more than our cost of doing so. Write to ellipseapps@gmail.com.
